DESCRIPTION:
Paul Garnier, Paris, France a small Series I carriage clock in brass corniche case with 8 day, time and half hour bell strike, spring driven movement with original chaff cutter platform escapement and engine turned silver dial, c1840 s#506 branded onto topside of bottom board, including leather travel case
CONDITION:
good running order, the movement winds, ticks and strikes. There is a small flake in the top glass and pin pricks in the other glasses. The travel case is a perfect fit and period and may be original. The unusual escapement is documented in Derek Robert's "Carriage and other Traveling Clocks", page 45. Ht 6" to top of handle
